Overview
The A8 is Audi’s flagship luxury sedan that debuted for the 1997 model year as the replacement for the Audi V8 which had been discontinued in North America after the 1994 model year. The original A8 featured extensive use of aluminum, which was unusual at the time and gave the A8 a weight advantage compared to some of its competitors. The extended-wheelbase A8 L was added for 2000 and the redesigned second-generation A8 debuted for the 2004 model year.
What’s new in 2007?
The 2007 Audi A8 receives a number of new equipment including standard front and rear comfort headrests, Driver Information Center, satellite antenna, a standard rearview camera and Sirius Satellite Radio in W12 models, a power increase in the standard Bose Surround Sound System and two new exterior colors. Under the hood is a new 4.2-liter FSI engine with 350 horsepower. Options include the Bang & Olufsen Advanced Audio System, 20-inch wheel option on W12 with the Sport Package on 4.2 models, iPod integration (later in model year), and a full leather upgrade.
