Overview
The E-Class is Mercedes-Benz midsize luxury sedan and it received refreshed styling, restyled interior and more standard equipment for 2007. The E320 BLUETEC also joined the lineup replacing the E320 CDI offering high performance, better fuel economy and extremely low emissions. When Mercedes-Benz completely redesigned the E-Class for 1996, it not only changed the car, it also changed the image. Designed to be roomier and safer than its predecessor, the E-Class included the industry’s first front-door-mounted side airbags.
What’s new in 2007?
The 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class receives new styling featuring a more aggressive front bumper, lower air dam, restyled front grille and headlights, more aerodynamic side mirrors, and redesigned rear bumper and taillights. The interior is fitted with a new steering wheel and shift lever, revised layout for automatic control, and four new interior colors. New standard equipment includes a glass sunroof, six-disc CD changer and Harman/Kardon Logic 7 ™ premium audio system. The E320 BLUETEC replaces the E320 CDI and is heralded as the world’s cleanest diesel. With 388 lb-ft of torque, a 0 to 60 mph time of 6.6 seconds, and a fuel economy rating of 26/37 (city/hwy), the E320 BLUETEC also uses an ultra-low sulfur diesel that has 97 percent less sulfur content. Replacing the E500, the E550 is powered by a new-generation 32-valve 5.5-liter V8 delivering 382 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque. The E63 AMG also replaces the E55 AMG featuring a 6.3-liter naturally aspirated V8 that produces 507 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. All models receive the Mercedes-Benz PRE-SAFE safety system that takes protective measures before a crash to minimize injuries.
